This past summer, the Port of Portland and the Working Waterfront Coalition presented the second installment of Portland Harbor: Behind the Scenes. The series included lectures held at the St. Johns McMenamin’s Theater and tours of businesses up and down the Willamette River waterfront, including Columbia Grain, Advanced American Construction, and a jetboat tour of the entire harbor.
The series will continue in 2011, with organizers finalizing new tours and presentations. Events are designed to give community members a behind-the-scenes peek at how the working waterfront functions and influences many facets of life in the Portland area.
